Sway 2
Ceramics and Print Exhibition 2025
27.6.25-30.8.25
Curators: Avner Singer and Moshe Roas | Givat Haviva Art Gallery
The exhibition presents approximately 500 ceramic and print works, created by over 200 students at the Shared Art Center in Givat Haviva. In an unimaginable reality, where the concept of security mainly reflects its absence and "together" has become an empty phrase - the bustling learning spaces functioned as islands of sanity through the unfolding conversations, allowing one to regulate breathing, gain strength, rest, and dream.
On Friday, June 27th, 2025, the exhibition Sway 2 - the annual exhibition of ceramics and printmaking students - will open at the Givat Haviva Art Gallery. The exhibition encapsulates the extensive creative activity that takes place throughout the year at the Shared Art Center in Givat Haviva. Visitors are invited to view a spectacular variety of about 500 works, displayed in five spaces, all of them meticulously and superbly handcrafted.
In an unimaginable reality, where the concept of security mainly reflects its absence and "together" has become an empty phrase - the bustling learning spaces functioned as islands of sanity. The values we believe in – community, sharing, and bringing people and ideas closer together – have been realized here every day, through action.
The works created throughout the year, whether they touch on the events of the time or not, reflect the power of art to heal and create another reality, to let the imagination wander, to move in and out, to sway between extremes. Moving with the material, surrendering to time, working in a shared environment, and holding conversations, made it possible to regulate breathing, gain strength, rest, and dream.
Over 200 students come every week to the Shared Art Center in Givat Haviva in order to explore, experiment, talk and refine a personal creative language. The Shared Art Center, which has been operating for over three decades, is a place of growth, nurturing artists who are active in the local field of material culture.
