This ceramics exhibition presents more than 500 ceramic works displayed across five spaces. Spanning the fields of sculpture and pottery, the works offer an exceptional variety of experimentation and exploration of the properties and possibilities of the material.
The exhibition presents the perspective of the individual, based on an understanding of the person as the driving force behind their own creative process. At the same time, it offers a broader perspective in which the works are viewed as products that have influenced one another throughout the creative process; together, they form a mosaic that constitutes a much larger whole.
The works stand out for their use of unusual colors and glazes, some of which are the result of special firing processes. In this sense, they express the view that the creative material space is an experimental one, continually daring to test the boundaries of the material throughout every stage of the creative process. Some of the works convey fascinating conceptual approaches, resulting from a creative process that emphasizes the development of ideas and the interaction between material, form, and concept.
On a More Personal Note:
The renowned annual exhibition, whose reputation has spread far and wide, is a showcase of works that express the personal place of each student. It reflects an approach that places the individual at the center of their own creative world, according to their aspirations and through both personal and shared processes, while seeking to expose them to contemporary artistic discourse. The exhibition represents all the students who spend a full day studying in the department, with an emphasis on different levels of experience and development.
The School of Ceramics at the Joint Art Center, and the courses it offers, provide ceramics enthusiasts with an opportunity to learn, experiment, develop, and exhibit their work!
