The
exhibition deals with points of view or actions that disrupt the perceptions of
time and space, and offer new and sometimes subversive territories and ranges
of action within time or in its intervals.
Drafting Winds
includes works of 13 artists from the contemporary art field, and showcases painting,
photography, sculpture, glass, textile, poetry and video works, created in
different time periods and over varying lengths of time.
The
works reflect, each in its own way and time, something of the anxiety of time
running out, but also of the feeling that time seems to have stood still and of
the draft winds that characterize the current period of time.
From
the disruptive actions of the artists in space and time, in the swirling
movements between times, between the drafts of wind, new layers of spirit and
matter are revealed, demonstrating our temporary nature, as well as our ability
to exist simultaneously in multiple chapters on our timeline.
The
desire to move freely through time and challenge its forward and onward movement,
together with the built-in tension of trying to capture the reflection of time,
are echoed in the creative acts of the participating artists.
The
exhibited works seek to rewrite chapters in time through material and form - to
dismantle or even disintegrate and then rephrase time and its particles, to feel
its pains, to subvert it, and from all of these to offer an alternative to the
existing order.
