About Adina Bar-on

Adina has been creating performances in Israel and around the world for five decades. She welcomes her audience with the movements of her body and her voice, and awakens awareness of social behavior as well as criticism and responsibility for what is happening in our environment.

What is a performance?

A performance is a work of live art initiated by a visual artist in spaces that are art galleries or public environments. The presence of the performance artist is created through a movement and sound event that is personal, which is not staged by anyone, other than the artist. The happening is always in front of the audience, around and within it.

In the space shared by the artist and his/her audience, boundaries are erased and a social experience is created, which is one of the important characteristics of this art. The roots of this medium can be found in ancient cults, but it was the Dada artists in the second decade of the 20th century whose performances influenced and left their mark on all cultural phenomena, to this day.

Entry to the event is free of charge.
