The exhibition 'Dual
Language' - the annual exhibition of ceramics and printmaking students,
which brings together different material and visual languages - will open at
the Givat Haviva Art Gallery on Friday, June 30, 2023. Visitors are invited to
admire a spectacular variety of approximately 500 works, all created by
meticulous handwork, spread over five spaces.
Over 200
students come every week to the Shared Art Center at Givat Haviva to explore,
experiment, talk and refine personal creative language and material culture.
The language of the clay and the way it is touched by the hand, the conceptual
language of each artist, the new languages created from the meeting between
different materials and media, the language of technique and technology, the
language of the light passing through the grid and the heat produced by the
kiln, all together produce a fascinating discourse. The exhibition features the
products of a year of study and artistic dialogue, in our students' unique
multiplicity of voices.
The Shared Art
Center at Givat Haviva, which has been operating for over three decades, is
home to artists who believe in multi-voiced communication and the values of a
shared society. We believe in the role of art to build bridges between people
and worlds. We also believe in the wonderful power of material crafts to
motivate opinions, feelings and ideas, and to expand the ability to see the
good.
