Ceramics Exhibition 2018

June 27 – July 28

Sculpture, Pottery and Everything that Lies Between

Curation: Avner Singer and the Teaching Staff

This ceramics exhibition displays over 500 clay works from the realm of sculpture and pottery, dispersed among five rooms, which present an extraordinary variety of experiences and experiments with the attributes and qualities of clay. The exhibition conveys the viewpoint of the individual, based on observation of the person her/himself as being the driving force for her/his work. Another, broader point of view is also presented, in which the works are perceived as outcomes influenced by each other during their processes of creation; as such, together they create a much broader mosaic of wholeness.

The pieces are outstanding in their use of unusual coloring and glazes, some of which are the result of special firing processes. As such, they express the perception that the expanse of the creative material is that of the experimenter who dares to examine its boundaries each time anew in all parts of her/his creative process. Some of the pieces express fascinating conceptual perceptions, the outcome of creation placing emphasis on ideological development and creation of interaction among clay, form and idea.

The exhibition closes on July 28, 2018.

And on a more personal note:

This renowned annual exhibition, with its far-reaching reputation… is the display window for ceramic pieces that express the personal place of each one of our students, through observation of the person as the center of her/himself, according to his/her desires in the personal and collaborative artistic action, while endeavoring to expose her/him to current discourse. The exhibition displays the works of all of its full-day students, with emphasis on the various levels.

The Collaborative Art Center's Ceramics School and its courses enable lovers of ceramics to study, experiment, develop and display their work!
