Sway
A new group exhibition of ceramic and printmaking
Exhibition curators: Avner Singer & Moshe Roas
On Friday,
August 24th, the exhibition ‘Sway' - the annual exhibition of ceramic and
printmaking students - will open at the Givat Haviva Art Gallery. The
exhibition encapsulates the extensive creative activity that takes place
throughout the year at the Shared Art Center in Givat Haviva. Visitors are
invited to view a spectacular variety of hundreds of works displayed in five
spaces, all of them created with meticulous and high-quality handwork.
Over 200 students
come every week to the Shared Art Center in Givat Haviva in order to explore,
experiment, talk and refine a personal creative language.
The Shared Art
Center, which has been operating for over three decades, is a place of growth,
nurturing artists who are active in the local material culture field. We
believe in the values of a shared society and in creating communities that
bring people, ideas and worlds together through artistic creation. Amidst the
instability and extreme and ceaseless fluctuations produced by the current
reality, the exhibition offers an opportunity to look and pay attention to the
variety of voices and ideas arising from the artistic actions with the
material.
It also
invites us to see how a safe creative space can establish and increase the
sphere of goodness, through thought, emotion, playfulness and skill.
A grand
opening will take place on Friday, August 2, 2024 Givat Haviva Art Gallery, the Shared
Art Center at Givat Haviva. Free admission.
